Center of Biocatalysis and Biotransformations
Project Aims
- Development and optimization of new biocatalysts (dehalogenases, esterases, nitrilases, amidases, glycosidases and other selected enzymes)
- Study of biocatalysis mechanisms and molecular structure of these enzymes
- Development and implementation of the methods for structure study and function of enzyme and its optimization
Members
- Institute of Microbiology of Czech Academy of Sciences (coordinator)
- Masaryk University
- Southbohemian University in České Budějovice
- Institute of Systems Biology and Ecology
Time schedule of the project
- implementation of controlled enzyme evolution (2006)
- software development (2007)
- implementation of recombinant DNA techniques (2008)
- study of ES complexes (2009)
- preparation of hydrolases library (2009)
- preparation of glycosidases library (2009)
- organization of scientific and education meetings (2010)
The education of both undergraduate and graduate students will be crucial, along with the organization of seminars, workshops, scientific symposiums and development of external relations (mainly by joining international projects).
